Training

All the swimmers are members of  ASA ‘home’ swimming clubs around the region where they do their normal pool, sprint and distance, training and competing.  For open water work and the Channel attempt in particular though they have come together under the auspices of Bristol North Swimming Club.

Swimmers will do much of their pool training within their own clubs and under the guidance of their parents.  Specialist open water training will be provided by BEST (Bristol English Channel Swim Team) starting in lakes (eg Henleaze lake in Bristol) and progressing to salt water lakes (eg Clevedon) and open sea.  We also hope to go abroad for a week at Easter 2010 and perhaps also include training in Lake Windermere (finances permitting).
